The Living Room / Central Court yard

                      

The living room is in the middle of the house in what used to be the central courtyard.  It has since been covered by a sky light to help maintain the house dry yet still provide a great deal of natural light. 

 

This is a wonderful space to relax in a comfortable chair or read below the skylight on the inviting sofa. 

You can take advantage of the WIFI connect in this space as well.                          

Thru out the house you will notice the artisan crafted mosaicos hidráulico or encaustic cement tiles that became popular in Europe and Latin America in the 1850s. They are still manufactured today in Guadalajara, by hand, using the same techniques.

You will appreciate the hand crafted talavera tiles line the walls as you enjoy
modern conveniences like an induction burner, full size refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster and blender.  You can still see where the openings in the ceiling were that allowed smoke to escape from the wood burning stove tops from yesteryear. For your convenience the kitchen is also equipped with cook ware and utensils, as well as plates dishes and flatware.

Whether you are enjoying a meal or just want a place to spread out and work, or plan your activities for the day, the Dining Room is spacious and comfortable.  The window to the left opens to the Living Room / Central Court Yard and the kitchen is to the right.
